Just back from a four-night family birthday bash. 19 of us. We rented the entire lodge. It was charming, rustic and the owners, Denise and Stuart, were so friendly-they really made us feel at home. We hiked, had a campfire and ate s'mores. The lake, just a short walk is tranquil. We had teens, a three year old, 30 somethings- all the way up to and 82 year old. We all had a ball. We kayaked, canoed, row-boated and swam. We had lunch by the pool-and played games, told jokes and bonded. My favorite part, beside the fabulous breakfast and dinner was the pub-it was huge and basically all ours! We sang karaoke, danced, played ping-pong and pool, laughed and drank. The bar bill for 19 of us (14 of us drinking alcohol was only $164 for the entire night!). Was it $2 a drink? I don't know. But the entire week was a great value. I got to know Denise and meet her son, Johnny and her mom. It was like being home. If your home were a huge lodge in the woods with a pool and lake!
